Chargers kicker Kaeding spends $1.475 million in Del Mar

San Diego Chargers placekicker Nate Kaeding and his wife, Samantha, bought a five-bedroom, four bath in Del Mar at 14745 Caminito Barbuda $1.475 million from James C. Doan Jr. on April 4.
Doan paid $800,000 for the 3,202 square foot property in Jan. 2000. It was built in 1988.
The sale was listed as high as $1.535 million.
Kaeding will be heading into his fourth season with the Chargers this Fall. Last season he posted the best numbers of his NFL career, connecting on 26 of his 29 attempted field goals and was named to his first Pro Bowl, where he kicked the game-winning field goal for the AFC in Feb.
In Sept. 2006 he signed a deal with the Chargers that would keep him with San Diego through 2012.
Kaeding was a standout at the University of Iowa, where he was was an All-Big Ten and All-American his junior and senior seasons. His junior year he won the Lou Groza award, which goes to the best kicker in college football. He remains Iowa's career scoring leader with 373 points.
He was picked by San Diego in the third round of the 2004 draft.
